From Chesterwell, the A12 is only 1.3 miles away, making travel to London, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Stansted convenient and simple. Colchester’s mainline railway station is only 1.5 miles away, where trains can get you to London Liverpool Street in less than 50 minutes, or Norwich in an hour.

At Chesterwell itself, there will be a brand new primary and secondary school catering for nearly 1,200 pupils, thanks to a successful bid from three of Colchester’s best existing schools to the Department for Education. Other good local primaries include Myland School, Queen Boudica School and Braiswick School. Colchester is also a good place for further and higher education. Colchester Sixth Form College and Colchester Institute offer a very wide range of academic and vocational courses between them.
