60 seconds with DAPA Interiors at Dash, Hoxton
We caught up with Karl Openshaw, Lead Creative at DAPA Interiors, the interior design consultancy that styled the show apartment at Countryside’s Dash development in the heart of Hoxton.
Find out more about Dapa Interiors’ inspiration at Dash:
What was your source of inspiration for Dash?
Steeped in history, Dash takes its name from ‘haberdashery’; in the 17th century, Robert Ask, a wealthy merchant and philanthropist set up a fund through the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, an ancient merchant guild, to build schools and almshouses locally.
So, we decided to incorporate elements of this heritage into the look of the show apartment, introducing haberdashery-related motifs, as well as linear forms and geometric designs.
What kind of buyer did you have in mind when designing the space?
A dynamic and cosmopolitan person with a taste for quirky design and contemporary art, aware of trends and what’s happening in the wider district. Hoxton is well-known for attracting creative people, who like original things – inside their homes and more generally.
What about the look and feel of the apartment you’ve designed?
We’ve incorporated some bold colour accents, like forest green, alongside calmer tones, such as amber and potter’s clay to bring a sense of warmth into the space and bring the outdoors inside. We’ve also used geometric patterns to create bright and modern interiors.
Why do you think buyers at Dash would benefit from speaking to you?
Walking into a blank canvas can be difficult and why not take the stress out of configuring your home by customising it from the outset?
With so many people working from home since lockdown, we can help home movers properly integrate an office space into the wider living area; share our insider tips on how to maximise the living/dining area for entertaining, and generally, how to zone the spaces for maximum visual impact and comfort.
As part of the incentive, buyers are free to choose their furnishings from a variety of items, including wallpaper, paints, window treatments, and even custom joinery. For more information or to book an appointment, click here or email [email protected].
