Countryside tops out at the final building at new neighbourhood, Great Kneighton
This March, Countryside celebrated the topping out of the final building at Aura, which also marks the last building to be constructed at the award-winning neighbourhood of Great Kneighton.
The building – part of Aura: The Final Chapter – overlooks Trumpington Community College, as well as the thoughtfully-designed new green spaces within the development.
A significant milestone for Countryside, the occasion represents the culmination of 10 years on site, following the success of its previous developments at Great Kneighton, Novo and Abode.
Since construction began in 2011, Countryside has delivered over 1,100 homes, new community facilities, parks and open spaces, including a new 120-acre country park with woodland, four ponds - one of which is a bird reserve – allotments and adventure play areas, as well as playing fields for the new secondary school.
At the heart of Great Kneighton is a central square providing essential facilities and services for residents, including a new community building home to a public library, medical centre, community hall, exercise studio, conference rooms and café.
Catherine Brooking, Managing Director of Housebuilding, Central, Countryside, comments: “As the final chapter of the story, the topping out of the last building at Aura marks an exciting moment for Great Kneighton. The neighbourhood has become a highly desirable place to live in Cambridge, and it’s been fantastic to watch it come to life over the years, into the thriving, welcoming community it is today.”
There is a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes remaining at Aura: The Final Chapter, with prices from £329,950.
