First time buyers, Nick and Andrea, find their dream home at Countryside’s Mulberry Green
Nick (28), a shipbroker, and his girlfriend Andrea (26), a marketing account manager, were keen to move out of their parent’s homes and find their first house together.
With Nick already living in Essex and Andrea starting a new job in the county, it made sense to begin their search in the area. The couple found their perfect first home, a three-bedroom house at Countryside’s Mulberry Green in Hatfield Peverel.
The couple purchased a three-bedroom semi-detached house ‘The Laurel’ and moved in April 2021. Andrea says, “We already knew we wanted to buy at a Countryside development having heard fantastic feedback from friends.” She adds, “When we stumbled upon Mulberry Green, we fell in love with the development straightaway and knew this was where we wanted to call home.”

Nick says, “We are so lucky to have been able to purchase a three-bedroom house which will allow us to grow and start a family. We love the layout of the downstairs; we have a large open-plan kitchen and living area which is fantastic for entertaining.” He adds, “The living area leads out onto our private garden, which is an added bonus, we can’t wait to host friends for drinks this summer now we have so much space.” Andrea also says, “The fittings and appliances within the house are to a high specification, which was such a selling point for us – I love the modern feel and touches throughout, it’s definitely a benefit of buying a new-build home from Countryside.”
When talking about their purchase, Andrea says “We feel so lucky to have purchased a house in such a gorgeous development. What we love about Mulberry Green is the size, the development is smaller than what you would imagine so there is a real sense of community here.” She adds, “It is also located on the edge of the gorgeous village, Hatfield Peverel And we love the village atmosphere it offers. There are some fantastic pubs and restaurants which we can walk to.”

Nicks says, “It was really important that we bought a house which allowed me to commute to London quickly for work. Mulberry Green offers just this with the train journey only 45 minutes from the capital.” He adds, “We get the best of both worlds enjoying the quieter everyday living the Essex countryside offers, as well as being able to get into the city and enjoy London.”
