More than you can imagine
The dream of a forever home finally made true
Gemma (34) and Paul (40) are moving a whopping 266 miles away from their current home in Dorchester after finding the eight-year dream of their forever home was made real by Countryside in Lancashire. The couple are all set to relocate to a three-bedroom detached house at Ribblesdale Place in Accrington in December.
Gemma, a Senior Recruitment Manager, tells us how their dreams came true...
A new life up north
“We’ve been talking about our forever home for the past eight years and knew we could afford everything we wanted if we moved to the North West.
“I grew up near Accrington and worked in the town centre, so know it well and have a lot of family and friends there. We love the area and the transport links and it’s a perfect mix of urban and rural.
“With house prices rising, we wanted to move quickly. We’d always said we’d never buy new build - the ones I’ve seen in the past don’t seem to have any character - but when we came across a video of the homes at Countryside’s Ribblesdale Place development in Accrington, we completely changed our minds.”
The charm of country living
“The development looks out over the Lancashire hills, which our labrador, Roger, will love exploring! But it was the house itself that got our attention. It ticks every single box on our wishlist - including a bay window, which has always been my dream.
“Our favourite thing about the house is the kitchen / diner with the snug - when we have friends round, we’re always in the kitchen and there’s so much space. The skylights make it so bright and airy too.”
“I also love the separate front room and plan to escape in there when the golf is on! The garden is the perfect size for Roger and the storage area upstairs is so big, I’m going to turn it into an office..”
A dreamlike experience
“Anne has been amazing and indeed everyone we’ve met at Countryside has been great, there was no hard sell and the whole experience has been stress-free - no gazumping or worry that the sale will fall through.
“We just can’t wait to move in properly now. We’ll have the support of our family - and a dog sitter for when we just want to pop out for the day. We’re dropping Roger with my mum on the day we move in and it’s being able to do things like that, that really makes all the difference. It feels like it’s our time to settle and start a new life together.
