PPE donation to Wigan care homes
Our Partnerships North team has donated much-needed PPE supplies to Wigan Council for use in its community care homes in and around Leigh.
The team behind the regeneration of the former North Leigh Park site, delivered 10,000 3-ply disposable paper masks and 550 disposable aprons to staff at The Leigh Hub.
Gordon Innes, Managing Director, Partnerships Manchester and Cheshire East, Countryside said: “It’s critical that businesses continue to support the local community through this difficult time and we have been working hard to distribute our surplus PPE to those that need it most.
“It was a pleasure to meet some of Leigh’s frontline staff who are working tirelessly to support the town’s large adult social care sector and I would like to extend my thanks to Councillor Dane Anderton for reaching out to us.”
Wigan-based Heatons Transport Services partnered with us to safely drop off the equipment for free at the Turnpike Centre.
Leader of Wigan Council, Coun David Molyneux, said: “On behalf of Wigan Council I would like to thank you for the kindness and generosity you have shown to the community and for supporting Wigan Borough’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
As a group, Countryside has donated more than 25,000 items of PPE across the UK to-date and has also set up a £1m community fund to help support charities that work with vulnerable people within the areas that the business operates.
