Virtual buyers find dream home in Middlebeck
When the nation was locked down in March this year, Newark couple, Matt and Nosheen were convinced that buying their dream home was now out of reach. But thanks to Countryside and the wonders of modern technology, their hopes were made a reality.
Matt and Nosheen had been searching for the right home for several weeks without success prior to the pandemic. Then an internet search put them in front of Countryside’s new development - The Boulevard in Middlebeck, Newark.
Matt commented: “We set ourselves a target of buying a house this year but then Covid-19 came along and it looked like it might not happen. However thanks to the virtual reservation process with Countryside, it is!
“Reserving our new home virtually with Countryside was great. We took the virtual tours to see what our home would look like and exchanged lots of emails and phone calls with our sales consultant, Laura who talked us through everything, sent us drawings of our home and really simplified the process for us.”
Matt and Nosheen reserved their new home using the government backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme.
Nosheen continued: “The entire reservation process has been really smooth and straight forward. Our consultant answered all our questions and supported us through using the Help to Buy scheme. We've felt really reassured and relaxed about everything from day one.”
With the Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme, the government will lend you up to 20% of the cost of your new build home so buyers only need a 5% cash deposit. Buyers then have a 75% mortgage to make up the rest, while the 20% equity loan is interest free for the first five years*.
The couple reserved a three bedroom New Walton home at Countryside’s The Boulevard development in the new community of Middlebeck. The development forms part of Urban & Civic’s £500m, 694-acre urban expansion into the south of Newark.
Matt continued: “We love our New Walton home. From the kitchen and living space, to the ensuite in the master bedroom, it has a really modern feel to it, finished to an excellent standard. We couldn’t have picked a better home or place to live.”
Nosheen added: “We are so excited now to get the keys and move into our new home - it is lovely to have something so positive to look forward to.”
Glyn Mabey, Managing Director, Partnerships East Midlands, Countryside, said: “We were determined not to let lockdown stand in the way of helping buyers reserve the home of their dreams so we worked hard to update and improve the ways you can do that virtually. It is fantastic to hear how well the virtual reservation process worked for Matt and Nosheen and that we were able to help them to fulfil their goal of buying their first home this year.
“We wish them the best for when they move into their new home at The Boulevard. This development was one of our first within the East Midlands region and we are very proud to be a part of growing this brand new residential community in Middlebeck.”
