Beaulieu Heath case study

Beaulieu: family living at its finest

Jonathan Sharpin and his wife Lisa knew their family would soon outgrow their 2-bedroom apartment on the Isle of Dogs. Despite having wonderful views over Greenwich and the Thames, as well as great seats for the New Year’s fireworks displays, they knew it was time to move on.

Jonathan and Lisa visited a number of developments in or close to Chelmsford, all of which had their particular charms. But it wasn’t until they visited the parkland setting of Beaulieu that they knew this was the full package they had hoped for; a home where their family could flourish.

“We were attracted to Beaulieu by a combination of elements, both aesthetic and practical. On one hand, we had recently become a family with the arrival of our daughter Joy - so our previous flat was quickly becoming crowded. While visiting a houses around the Chelmsford area, the finer details of Beaulieu kept us coming back to the development. The landscaping, for instance, is very thoughtful and well maintained. We could picture ourselves making Beaulieu our home; we could imagine ourselves spending our future summers and Christmases on the development”.

Located in an area that was once the hunting grounds of King Henry VIII, the vision for Beaulieu was to create a vibrant new integrated community for the city of Chelmsford, bringing together 3,600 quality new homes in a range of styles to suit different tastes, preferences and income levels. To achieve its vision, the development offers a blend of inspirational architecture, well maintained landscape and open space, a plethora of amenities, new transport connections, sports clubs, community gardens and more.

Jonathan recalls seeing their 5-bedroom home for the first time, and how attractive it looked, both from the outside as well as the inside: “The Augustine was quite simply the home that we always wanted, which we didn’t think we could get in the UK. The spacious garden and lovely porch outside are certainly some of the most attractive features and places we keep coming back to. They are such unique aspects of the home that we can enjoy. The interior is also impressive and provided an excellent blank canvas for us to work with and make our own. The large rooms, all finished to high specifications, meant that the home was ready to be lived in. This made moving in with a young child that much easier”.

When it comes to design and construction, the value that Beaulieu’s residents get is second to none. In addition to having a home on a picturesque landscape-led development with a myriad of community benefits, interiors are well-planned, offering light filled living spaces designed with modern-day life in mind. From high specification kitchens that come complete with integrated appliances to luxurious bathrooms and fitted bedrooms, Countryside has thought of everything to create a collection of truly distinctive homes. Flooring and integrated kitchen appliances are also included as standard throughout all homes, meaning buyers can move in with minimal additional costs.

When it came to finally picking their 5-bedroom home in Beaulieu over other developments, another thing that Jonathan highlights is how accommodating the Countryside team were: “The sales team were fantastic – honest and helpful throughout the whole process. They quickly were able to pick up what we were looking for and they didn’t try and push other options on us. It has been lovely to continue seeing them as residents and letting them know how we are settling in”.

The fact that Beaulieu was designed with community living in mind is another feature that Jonathan appreciates: “The nursery, for example, has been amazing to have nearby. Our daughter Joy has settled in and made lots of friends who she can catch up with at the communal playgrounds on the weekend. It’s also fantastic to have Beaulieu Square at your doorstep, which serves as Beaulieu’s focal point and hosts a range of shops and facilities.”

Jonathan adds: “As more houses are finished and more people move in, it has been lovely to see Beaulieu becoming a thriving community”.

The Augustine is one of the highlights at Beaulieu. Located in Beaulieu Heath, it’s a masterfully designed, five-bedroom detached home perfect for family life. The inspiration for The Augustine was taken from the stunning New England colonial style. The ground floor boasts a stylish a family/ dining area with French doors to the garden and a separate living room, cloakroom and study. Floor one boasts an impressive master bedroom which extends the full width of the property while the second floor has a guest bedroom and a cinema room to provide an entertainment space for the whole family.

The Augustine perfectly embodies what Countryside is all about: making places people love.
