The couple, who have been together for six years, were the first residents to move into Countryside’s new Silkin Green development in Telford, having picked up the keys to their New Stamford home last month.

Aimee, who works as a Sales Coordinator, commented: “We’ve both always been in the habit of building up our individual savings, so we’d actually been saving for a while before we decided to buy a house. We weren’t looking for very long - we started house hunting one Saturday in October, last year, and then reserved our home the very next day!

“As we reserved early, we went to another Countryside development to view the showhomes and just knew that we’d found ‘the one’. We really love the skylights and the open-plan kitchen in the New Stamford, but what really caught our attention was the master suite - it fills the entire top floor and feels really spacious.”

Being local to the area, and living at Aimee’s mother’s house near the development, the pair were thrilled to find their ideal home without leaving Telford.

Aimee continued: “The location is what really sold us on the house, as Telford was always our first choice. Silkin Green is perfect for us - it’s just a short walk into the centre and there’s a really nice park next door, which is great as we’ll be welcoming a dog into our family in June!”

Priced at £222,995, The New Stamford is sold as freehold with three spacious bedrooms, a large open-plan kitchen / living area, French doors and an impressive master suite.

All homes at Silkin Green are available through the Help to Buy scheme and benefit from Countryside’s standard enhanced specification, which provides buyers with a number of exclusive extras such as integrated appliances, vanity units and Porcelanosa tiles.

Aimee continued: “The whole Help to Buy process was really smooth and we’ve had a lot of support along the way. If it hadn’t been for the Help to Buy scheme, I’m certain that we wouldn’t have been able to afford our new home.”

Deborah Hughes, Regional Sales Director at Countryside, commented: “Aimee and Ryan’s story is a truly encouraging example of how the Help to Buy scheme is enabling a younger generation to achieve their homeownership goals. Our recent survey shows that there is a real interest amongst those under 24 to break the rental cycle and step onto the property ladder, so it’s great to see first time buyers starting this exciting new journey at our development.”
