Hoxton Wharf, London
- 84 new homes
- New sporting and educational facilities
- Delivery 2010-2012
We were selected by the historic Crown & Manor Club to redevelop their facilities on Wiltshire Row in Hackney. The charity, which provides sporting and educational facilities for local young people, wanted their club to be transformed to provide a multi-purpose indoor sports area, library and classroom facilities. Working with the Boys Club we took the proposals through planning.
The redevelopment was made possible by the provision of 84 new homes. Many of the one, two and three bedroom apartments overlook the Regent’s Canal in the heart of London’s N1 postcode.
The new Crown & Manor Club is proving to be very popular with local young people. It has improved the canalside and contributed substantially to the regeneration of this part of Hoxton.
“The Crown and Manor Club has been in operation for over 100 years building a strong local reputation. We were therefore very careful in the selection of an appropriate partner that could provide the skills and understanding necessary to design and deliver a much needed new facility for young people locally. Having developed a sound understanding of the Club’s operations, Countryside Properties met all our requirements in creating a high quality new facility building the foundations for another successful era. Countryside has a breadth of skills and experience and has proven to be a very good partner to work with.”
