‘We couldn’t believe our luck that we could buy such a spacious property which met all of our requirements – it was fate.’
Jack, a local Electrical Engineer (22), and Rosie, an Administrative Assistant (23), began their property search in January 2020 as first-time buyers, looking to move in together and take the exciting leap of getting on the property ladder. Jack says: “I was working in Essex but living in Kent, so I was keen to shorten my commute. Rosie already lived in Essex, so it seemed the obvious choice for us to begin our search in Rayleigh and surrounding areas.”
Having chosen their desired location, they began their search online and came across Wolsey Park on the Countryside website. “To be honest we weren’t originally looking at new builds as we thought they would be too expensive. However, when we found the house at Wolsey Park, we couldn’t believe our luck that it fell into our price range. We contacted the sales and marketing suite straight away and were informed it was the last available at this time for reservation – it was fate, and we were sold straight away,” Jack said.
The couple reserved the house, ‘The Stonechat’, and couldn’t wait to move in: “We got the keys on 18th December 2020, so we were in before Christmas which was just fantastic.”
The two-bedroom semi-detached house is incredibly spacious, particularly compared to similar properties in the area. Jack explains: “It was important for us to have a two-bedroom property with my family based in Kent. Moving away for the first time meant we needed space for them to be able to visit and stay over.”
Rosie adds: “We also love the open-plan living the house offers – the large French doors leading out onto the garden really flood the living area with so much light!” A bonus is the wonderful landscaped private garden which provides the perfect venue for outdoor entertaining’. She adds: “I love how we have our own outside space! Not only do we have the garden, but also the private driveway at the front which provides parking for not one but three cars – it’s now so easy for family and friends to pop over and visit.” Wolsey Park provides a spacious environment, with buildings cleverly positioned and a communal green for residents to enjoy. Jack comments, “it’s remarkably quiet and we have really enjoyed walks around the green.“
The development is conveniently positioned close to the historic town of Rayleigh which boasts a number of local attractions, a variety of restaurants and bars as well as numerous local amenities. Unsurprisingly, this was another reason the couple were drawn to the development. Rosie says: “It’s such a bonus having the high street so close by, it makes popping out for groceries a simple task – it’s easily walkable or a short 5-minute drive, which is such a luxury.”
“One thing we particularly love about Countryside is everything comes as standard so no extra cost which really differentiates them from other developers. We would definitely recommend them to family and friends.”
Rosie and Jack are thrilled with their purchase and the wonderful service they have received from Countryside. “Every aspect of the buying process was incredibly smooth and communication was fantastic – this really put me at ease especially as I was anxious with this being my first property purchase,” Rosie adds.
