Cheers to Rochester Riverside’s new residents!
The first residents of Rochester Riverside, Countryside and Hyde’s £419m regeneration scheme, were welcomed to their new homes with a celebratory event marking one year since the official opening of this new riverside destination.
With food provided by Do-Dough Pizza and drinks served in the on-site marketing suite, the new residents enjoyed the afternoon sun and the opportunity to get to know their new neighbours. Those who attended also received a free housewarming gift from The White Company to help decorate their new home.
The residents were able to make use of the new plaza, which will open fully later this autumn, following the opening of the Travelodge hotel. With the first commercial occupier, Co-op, expected to open before Christmas, this brand-new public space provides an inviting gateway to Rochester Riverside with new planting and amenities.
Furthermore, the first stage of the riverside walkway has now been completed. With the salt marsh creek now open, residents and the public can stroll along the first stage of the new 2.5km walkway to enjoy panoramic vistas of both the River Medway and historic Rochester.
With additional residents scheduled to move in at the end of September as further houses and apartments complete, the community spirit that is already evident at Rochester Riverside will continue to flourish in the years to come.
