Countryside appoints Phil Chapman to lead its new Housebuilding West region
Countryside, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer specialising in place making and regeneration, has appointed Phil Chapman to lead its new Housebuilding West region as Managing Director.
Phil’s appointment reflects Countryside’s long-term commitment to growing the geographical presence of its housebuilding division beyond the M25 to deliver high quality, sustainable developments based on garden village principles. Based in a new office on the M3 corridor, he will focus on leading the growth of the region across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and West Sussex.
Phil’s move follows more than 30 years working at large housebuilders including Bryant Homes, Taylor Wimpey, and most recently for Linden Homes where he was Divisional Managing Director covering the whole of the South of the country. Phil’s divisional turnover was £750m building circa 1,750 homes annually.
Phillip Lyons, Chief Executive, Housebuilding, Countryside, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Phil to lead the launch and growth of this new region, the first new region for Housebuilding in almost 5 years. His track record and reputation for running multiple sites and his understanding of Southern England will be invaluable as he nurtures the team and looks to expand our regional footprint.
“Our Housebuilding division has steadily grown over the years and we are proud to deliver best-in-class developments and, more importantly, sustainable communities which stand the test of time. I have no doubt Phil will uphold these values, ensuring we create places people love.”
