Countryside gets green light for 186 homes in Wynyard Park

Siskin Park

Countryside, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer, has secured planning permission to create a new collection of 186 homes in Wynyard Park in Stockton-on-Tees, the business’ largest open market development in the region to date.

To be named Siskin Park, the new development will be located in the sought after Wynyard area and will offer a range of three and four-bedroom homes. Building work is expected to start in March this year.

As part of its planning submission Countryside has committed to a host of Section 106 commitments, including a circa £900k investment in primary and secondary education, a contribution of £180k towards footways and cycleways and a £39k contribution to health facilities.

In addition, the developer has pledged to invest approximately £690k in carriage widening and junction improvements for the A19 as well as a contribution to biodiversity and the creation of green open space with play equipment at the development.

Chris Penn, Managing Director, Partnerships Yorkshire, Countryside, said: “A great deal of thought, meticulous design and understanding of the needs of the local area have gone into our plans for Siskin Park and we’re extremely proud to have secured planning permission and to be taking forward what will be an exceptional development of luxury homes.

“As is always the case we must look first at our developments’ surrounding environment and ensure that we complement the landscape. Only then can we look at the homes themselves, scrutinising their design and ensuring they meet the needs of the local market. Siskin Park will be set with stunning mature woodland views and it is this, alongside the beautiful spacious and open-plan design of our homes that perfectly blends town and country living.”
