Countryside promotes Andy Barron to MD to lead Housebuilding West region
Countryside, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer, has promoted Andy Barron to Managing Director to lead its Housebuilding West region.
The appointment reflects Countryside’s long-term commitment to growing the geographical presence of its housebuilding division beyond the M25 to deliver high quality, sustainable developments based on garden village principles. Based in a new office on the M3 corridor, he will focus on leading the growth of the region across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and West Sussex.
Previously Land & Planning Director within the region, Andy has played a pivotal role in the region’s office relocation and its merger with Countryside’s premium brand, Millgate. Prior to working in Countryside, he worked in land planning and technical disciples for the likes of Linden Homes and Taylor Wimpey.
Andy Barron, Managing Director, Housebuilding West, commented: “I look forward to developing and growing the region, delivering best-in-class developments and, more importantly, sustainable communities which stand the test of time.
“Based in the new office, I am also looking forward to working closely with the team, given they really are the biggest assets to our business.”
Phil Chapman, Chief Executive, Housebuilding, added: “Andy takes on this role at a truly exciting phase of the business. His track record and understanding of this part of the country will be invaluable as he nurtures the team and looks to expand our regional footprint.
“The Housebuilding division has steadily grown over the years and we are proud to create highly regarded future-proof communities and I have no doubt Andy will be committed in creating places people love.”
