Countryside’s Aura development recognised at the Cambridge City Council Considerate Contractor Awards
We are proud to announce that our Aura development in Great Kneighton, Cambridge, has been presented with a Work in Progress Award at the Cambridge City Council Considerate Contractor Awards 2019.
The Cambridge City Council Considerate Contractor Awards recognise construction sites that adhere to the Considerate Contractor scheme’s code of good practice, going over and above the legal requirements. The code of good practice is designed to ensure that construction work does not make life unpleasant for people who live and work nearby.
The Work in Progress Award honours sites that have not yet been completed but meet all the criteria for the awards.
Judges look for sites that are considerate, quiet, clean, responsible, tidy, safe, and accountable. A particular focus for the Considerate Contractor scheme is the cleanliness of any area that is used or seen by the public, as well as availability of parking, and working hours.
At Countryside, we work closely with our supply chain to share best practice and reduce the impact of our work on the environment and the communities we work within. We work hard to ensure our sites operate safely and that sub-contractors working on our developments receive training and information on safe working practices, environmental awareness and occupational health issues.
We also put in place stringent procedures at every site, including Aura, to reduce noise, dust and nuisance caused by construction. This ensures that communities in and around our sites are able to enjoy their homes and the surrounding environment during the construction phase of our developments.
Our Aura development in Cambridge has already claimed a string of awards and is a RIBA Regional Award Winner 2018. The development offers a collection of apartments, duplexes and houses, designed with sophistication and style. Homes are surrounded by tree-lined avenues, green open spaces, cycle paths and a range of amenities.
