First Phase of St Michael's Hurst Selling Fast as Work Advances on New School, Roads and Green Spaces
The development will provide a wide variety of new homes in an exciting and readily accessible location within Bishop’s Stortford
St Michael’s Hurst, is proving to be a popular development for Countryside, one of the UK’s leading housebuilders. The collection of two to five-bedroom traditional homes on the outskirts of the historic market town of Bishop’s Stortford is close to the Hertfordshire countryside.
The show homes include the three-bedroom detached Ludlow. It offers spacious accommodation over two floors, suitable for families and downsizers alike, and benefits from a single garage; and the four-bedroom Winchester, which has an open-plan living-dining-kitchen area, an expansive master suite and three further bedrooms, perfect for today’s lifestyle. These are moving fast and won’t be available for much longer.
St Michael’s Hurst sits at the northern end of the Waterside Stortford initiative area which is being promoted by the local authorities and supported by Countryside as a way to improve the River Stort environs through the town. As part of this initiative, the 16-acre Bat Willow Hurst Country Park has opened including new recreational trails, ponds and wildlife habitats while retaining the original Bat Willows which line the banks of the river.
As part of the development, work is being undertaken to improve the local roads, including rebuilding Hazel End Road and constructing a new roundabout. The majority of highway improvements to Rye Street have also now been completed with the remainder due to be completed later in 2018. Additionally, works to the lower part of Farnham Road have been completed and will facilitate access to a planned new three-form-entry primary school that is to be delivered by Hertfordshire County Council and to which Countryside is making a substantial financial contribution.
David Everett, Managing Director, New Homes & Communities Central, said:
“Countryside has a proven track record in creating high-quality sustainable new communities and the first phase of St Michael’s Hurst continues with this tradition.
The development will provide a wide variety of new homes in an exciting and readily accessible location within Bishop’s Stortford.”
