Countryside's Aura development in Great Kneighton, Cambridge wins the RIBA East Award 2018

Our sustainable community development Aura, in Great Kneighton, Cambridge, has won the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) East Award. This project, designed by Tate Hindle Architects, is a result of Countryside’s collaboration with the Cambridge City Council.

The development, consisting of 650 homes, is thoughtfully landscaped with planting in front gardens, small pocket parks and links to the local open country park. Landscape architects BBUK have retained the historic hedgerows running down the side of the main road, preserving the area’s natural heritage.

Aura is made up of a collection of apartments, penthouses, spacious houses, and four-bedroom villas. The homes benefit from high ceilings and generously proportioned gardens, courtyards, balconies or terraces. They are designed with open living spaces, fitted kitchens with stone worktops and appliances, large bedrooms, many with dressing areas and large ensuites, making this development ideal for those who appreciate comfort and space.

Aura is a great example of a sustainable community with new schools, playgrounds, library, shopping and health facilities as well as remarkable transport links, which include a guided bus to the station and city centre.

A hugely successful project, Aura has had a lot of interest since its launch, and this prestigious award will undoubtedly make it an even more desirable place to live.
