Countryside named category winner for Property & Housebuilding on The Job Crowd’s list of Top 100 Graduate Employers

We are delighted to announce that Countryside has been named category winner for Property & Housebuilding on The Job Crowd’s list of Top 100 Graduate Employers, and ranking 31 out of 100, overall.

Last year, Countryside ranked 43 out of 100 and was voted the second-best company to work for in Property & Housebuilding. This year’s fantastic result reflects the ongoing hard work and support given by Countryside to its Graduate Programme.

The Job Crowd platform was launched in 2011 and is described as the TripAdvisor for jobs. The list of Top 100 Graduate Employers is based on thousands of anonymous reviews from early-career employees. These reviews consider a number of different aspects of work, including management, work-life balance, career progression and company culture.

At Countryside, we are committed to growing our own talent and, last year, we employed more than 100 early-career employees. We are proud of our Graduate Programme, which first began in 1980 with Graham Cherry, Chief Executive, Communities, Countryside, the first graduate to enter the programme.

We aim to give our graduates as much industry experience as possible during our two-year scheme. By completing a total of six rotations through each of our divisions, graduates have the chance to see the whole housebuilding process from start to finish, and, at the end of the programme, choose a role that suits them best.

Current Countryside Graduate Trainee, James Mahon, said, “From day one, I knew I made the right choice when I joined Countryside. Countryside’s graduate offering stands out because its programme is more varied than some of its peers - there is an opportunity to move through different departments within the business.”

Grace Alderson added, “Everyone at Countryside is so invested in the Graduate Programme and the company’s future. For example, at Countryside’s first ever Graduate Conference, we got to spend time with the senior team. The fact that they were prepared to sacrifice two days to help us get to grips with things was really impressive.”

Our commitment to helping graduates develop their careers is why it is so rewarding to see Countryside outrank many other housebuilders and be named The Job Crowd’s category winner for Property & Housebuilding.
