New Avenue Launch to Bring New Community to Oakwood
Countryside has launched New Avenue, a regeneration scheme in the idyllic London suburb of Oakwood that is providing 268 private new homes. Ideally placed on Avenue Road, this modern new development will combine high specification contemporary homes with local amenities and landscaped greenspaces, including a community centre, an eco-garden, and an orchard.
The first homes to launch for sale at the development include one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
Each apartment provides the best of contemporary design with large windows, light and airy living spaces, as well as open-plan kitchen/dining and living areas. With a generous provision of bathrooms many of the master bedrooms have an en-suite, and the apartments are finished to a high-specification throughout, for example with fully-equipped German-made kitchens by Nobilia that include integrated appliances. There is ample outside space too, with either a garden, terrace or balcony.
Across the development, New Avenue will comprise of a mix of stylish apartments and spacious duplexes, creating a place people will love.
Apartments and duplexes will be accommodated in well-designed contemporary buildings of three, four and six storeys in a variety of architectural styles with handsome brick facades. At New Avenue’s heart will be a new community centre for residents to socialise, while the green open spaces feature children’s play areas.
Central to the development is a wonderfully landscaped green swale, an innovative and design-led approach to drainage and flood-mitigation.
New Avenue is well-connected to the city and is located almost equidistance between Southgate and Oakwood stations on the Piccadilly Line. Southgate is a 20-minute walk away providing services to King’s Cross in 24 minutes and London Liverpool Street in 38 minutes. A short cycle ride or drive away is Winchmore Hill Station, which has direct services to London King’s Cross St Pancras Station.
Residents of New Avenue benefit from a wide range of amenities close-by. The centres of Southgate, Cockfosters and Barnet not only provide ample shopping with major high-street brands and independent shops, but also excellent cultural venues, including Southgate’s Chickenshed Theatre and the Everyman Cinema in Barnet. Southgate Leisure Centre is less than five minutes’ walk, providing a large swimming pool, gym and a wide choice of fitness classes.
There are several good schools in the area, including Osidge Primary School, which is rated good by Ofsted, and secondary and sixth form Southgate School, rated as outstanding by Ofsted.
Andrew Loveday, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside, said: “New Avenue will not only provide great homes, it has been designed to provide Londoners with a unique sense of community. This means meticulous attention to detail and the provision of amenities, including facilities, landscaping and layout to create an attractive, safe environment that promotes social interaction and well-being. We anticipate considerable interest in the homes at New Avenue.”
Construction work on New Avenue is underway, with first completions anticipated in April 2019.
