Residents move into new development of affordable apartments at Lichfield
Located on Greenhough Road in the city, this £4.1m scheme has been brought forward by developer Countryside as part of a Homes England grant to address the need for affordable housing in the locality.
Registered provider Waterloo Housing Group recently oversaw the handover of the properties and all 39 homes are now in occupation.
Completion of the project was marked by a special event held at the development and attended by representatives of Countryside, Waterloo and Lichfield District Council.
Tim Hart, Senior Land Manager, Partnerships (South Midlands), Countryside said: “We are pleased to see the completion of this outstanding project of 39 new apartments.
“It has been a pleasure to work with both Waterloo Housing Group and Lichfield District Council to arrive at a sensible access and design solution, and we are proud to be delivering these much-needed affordable homes for people in the city.”
Anthony Riley of Waterloo Housing Group said: “We are pleased with the new homes at Parkside Court and to be able to go some way to meet the housing needs of local people.
“Our work with Countryside and Lichfield District Council clearly demonstrates how a proactive partnership approach can meet the shortfall of this type of housing in the area.”
Cllr Ashley Yeates, Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services, Housing & Wellbeing for Lichfield District Council, commented: “It’s important to have good quality, local affordable homes, offering more opportunities to our residents, so we’re delighted to see this project come to fruition and for all of the homes to be occupied.
“Lichfield is a fantastic place to live and we’re sure the residents will be very happy in their new homes.”
